NATIONAL MODIFIEDS 2007 SHOW REPORT
Having been established for 5 years Modified Nationals has its tyres firmly lodged in the mud of the UK modified cars show calendar. Billing itself as the biggest modified party of the year the pressure was on to make sure that the punters and exhibitors had a good time.
The sunshine on the Saturday guaranteed a large crowd and all were in good spirits (nothing to do with copious amounts of alcohol consumed!). As normal all the exhibitors’ stands had their own entertainment on the day but the centre point of the show was the Modified Nationals main stage hosted by the infamous Adam Rayner. With the usual content from dirty dancers (not Patrick Swayze!) to the bikini babe competition the crowd was at times 20 deep and left little room for Fast & Modified’s big Eddie to have a good perv! With everyone getting a good old swally during the day, the after show party at night turned into a drunken stupor with the Fast Car main stage producing, again, plenty of TA…to be honest I can’t remember much more than that so I should probably leave it there.
Unfortunately the Sunday turned into a bit of a damp squib to say the least! Peterborough Show Ground ended up drenched after a full months rain falling in a 36 hour period! All the hungover club and cruise stands who had been camping through the night decided to go home early and exhibitors lost their any potential audience and so most packed up and went home. Typically though Kicker, Mutant, Vibe and JVC hung around to see who could endure the loudest noise for the longest.
All in all another good well organised show by No Limits Promotions, congratulations to Mark and his team for putting on one of the largest UK shows of 2007.
This is what the modified Nationals organisers said about the Show:
Modified Nationals was again at a new home for 2007, the show moved successfully to Peterborough Showground and the show continued to grow with an increase of 25% on 2006.
More than 20,000+ attended the show on the 25th-27th May with 115 car clubs making it the biggest display of modified car clubs in the UK, thousands of weekend visitors took advantage of the top evening entertainment package on offer and of course a huge day gate attendance Saturday. Sunday while a good day gate attendance was also seen, the rain of course dampened things a little.
On show was the cream from the modifying world, they came to show their car by the thousands on club stands, on trade stands and in the Autoglym Ultimate show car competition. The quality was astounding. The exhibitors excelled themselves with a vast array of bargains on offer from ICE to body kits and accessories.
Massive Kiss Stage with ‘Booty Love’
The Kiss stage was a hive of activity all weekend with their top DJ’s taking to the decks, providing entertainment all day including Street Dancers, competitions, give-aways and Breakdancers. The stage attracted massive crowds with the appearance of Chart Toppers ‘Booty Love’ and ‘Nathan’ also on stage was our Bikini Babe competition with heats on Saturday and the Final Sunday.
UK’s Biggest ICE Village
This year the Modified Nationals ICE Village was the biggest and loudest yet. a host of manufacturers competed for the attention of the huge crowds. Fusion, Harman, BBG, JVC, Armour, Midbass, Four, Ballistic, Clarion – it was one the biggest attractions of the show. The IASCA sound challenge as always completed the audio line up.
2 Wicked party Nights
Those who came for the weekend and there were over 6000, were treated to 2 wicked party nights, with a massive dance tent hosted by liquid Night clubs with top DJ Nikki Elise from Kiss on Friday night and Godskitchen with a host of top DJ’s including Radio 1’s the Trophy Twins Saturday night. With body grinders, stilt walkers, fire eaters, video screen visuals, lasers and much more
The weekend was completed with Indie Bands on Friday and Fast Car After Show party on Saturday, topped off with a huge Funfair and adrenaline bungee their weekend was complete.
Modified Nationals will be back next year
even bigger and better than ever.
